Every April, the California Legislative Jewish Caucus honors Holocaust survivors as part of Yom HaShoah. It’s a solemn and powerful tribute to the lives lost to the horrors of genocide and a call to action as we stand with survivors and advocates to pledge “never again.”
This year, Assemblymember Laura Friedman, District 44, was proud to introduce the remarkable Leora Raikin from the David Labkovski Project on the Assembly Floor for the creation of the David Labkovski Project.
“It was an incredibly moving day, being honored on the Assembly floor by the CA State Legislature in Sacramento. With extreme gratitude to my co-founders, Lisa Lainer-Fagan, Connie Marco, and Stephanie Wolfson, who have been instrumental in the growth and support of DLP. It was so very special having my mom, Barbara Barishman, and son, Joshua Raikin, with me for this moment, along with DLP board members Jennifer Lopata, Jill Harmezt Sanders, Debra Levine, and Stephen Gingold, who joined me at the Capitol Building in Sacramento. Thank you!”
