David Labkovski Project's Virtual Reality Experiences

A Step into the Past. A Leap into the Future.

The David Labkovski Virtual Reality Experience uses cutting edge technology to impact students beyond the traditional classroom models. Our innovative presentation immerses participants in the “world that was” prior to the Holocaust through two of Labkovski’s paintings.

This 15-minute immersive experience is run on the Oculus and can be paired with any of our in-person exhibits, lectures, or presentations. Request our virtual reality Oculus set-up for:

  • Classrooms
  • Student Curation Events
  • Museum & Gallery Exhibits
  • Company presentations

Narration is available in English, Lithuanian, Spanish and Hebrew. Each VR presentation is led by a DLP staff member or student docent.

Why Use Virtual Reality?

The DLP created its VR experience to immerse viewers in the “world that was.” Participants will “step into” the village in Vilna as Labkovski remembers it in his early life. Through virtual immersion in the paintings, participants gain a greater understanding of the vastness of Jewish life that existed for centuries before the Holocaust.

The 15-minute VR experience is enjoyed by people of all ages! DLP provides one VR set-up and someone on staff to answer questions and oversee the experience. For additional systems, the hosting organization will need to have a game-capable computer and the Oculus game hardware.
