Engage. Enrich. Educate. Empower.

DLP Programs: A Project Based Learning Approach

For Students of All Ages

Our multidisciplinary and project-based Holocaust educational programs merge art, history and technology to provide opportunities for our students and visitors to bear witnesses to history.

We focus on using David Labkovski’s art to teach tolerance, inclusion, and equality. Our goal is to go beyond teaching about the history of the Holocaust; we want people to think critically about the past and find ways to use their creativity to build a better future.

Engage

DLP guides students to become engaged with David Labkovski’s artwork, which illustrate his experiences of the Holocaust, such that they move from passive observer to actively bearing witness to history.

Enrich

DLP enriches Holocaust education by providing immersive, tangible experiences that evoke emotion and enable connection with our past, so that we never forget the atrocities committed by the Nazis and their supporters.

Educate

DLP’s pedagogical approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of the Holocaust, and it encourages visitors to educate their peers and communities about how to advocate for tolerance and inclusion.

Empower

DLP goes beyond the classroom; through Holocaust education, we empower students to use their creativity and their voice to stand against injustices.

Open to All Ages!

Reflect & Respond

For Students of All Ages

The Reflect & Respond Program is DLP’s main program for all ages. The intention is for you to view one of Labkovski’s art pieces and reflect on what was happening in the painting and how you feel about it. You can use our prompts for your reflection. After you reflect, we would like for you to respond to the piece with your own original essay or creative work of art.

Submissions are accepted all year. We hold a special Holocaust Commemoration where we share some of the best works with our community (with your permission). You may be invited to speak about your work, the impact Labkovski had on your piece, and how you feel the themes of his art are applicable to today and the future.

DLP Resources for Teachers

Expanding Holocaust Education Tools

DLP provides teachers with material to use Labkovski’s artwork for Holocaust education in the classroom. This includes structured questions about the artwork in DLP exhibits, providing the historical context of the paintings, relevant artworks that can be viewed together for greater impact, and recommendations for engaging with the stories behind the works.

For Companies & Organizations

DLP Beyond the Classroom

Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion

Organizations and corporations have a responsibility to understand antisemitism and uphold tolerance and inclusion in the workplace.

We work with your staff to put together the best ways to teach diversity, equity, and inclusion through our unique methods and David Labkovski’s artwork of the Holocaust.

Request a DLP Exhibit + Presentation
